Discussion about Mumblin' Jim - The Beach
SupperDom
The Beach is a quirky track. The bassline is kind of gated or muted but it chugs nicely. There is a kind of corny chimes going along with the melody and probably too much of the same samples going through the song but the bassline really saves it. And at times it's groovin infectiously. The piano is like a country western ho down sample making the song even more quirky. But hey it's Herbert so it makes sense. B-side starts out with another western sample and you think you are off to a similar strange mood as the A-side. But a nice melody comes in as well as an organ taking it into the late night zone and bringing it back to strictly house and back again. Fun track. The Bad Data remix is a little deeper for a nice alt to that song. B-side is where it's at!
