I once heard a story about AoS, it goes like this: "Yeah, I went to an AoS show before. Before the show started, they were skating out in some parking lot with a boom box blasting, and I saw their temporary vocalist, he was a one armed Japanese dude, who was drinking forties and shredding. It was just crazy." That totally convinced me that these dudes don't care about much, and seemed pretty promising. I'm pretty pleased with this 7". No Less is straight up powerviolence, with an awesome sense of humor. Between obvious drug references, Cheech and Chong clips, and every song having rap clipped into them, this is some pretty decent stuff. It isn't the heaviest powerviolence, but it is in the vein of Infest, except a little slower in some parts. Definitely some Southern riffs in "Balls Deep." Agents of Satan, on the other hand, is heavy, down-tuned, sludgy powerviolence. The vocals are straight death growls, sometimes reminding me (although this isn't a death metal ref.) to Beau of Insect Warfare's grunts. Every song has sweet, low, catchy, in your face riffs, with nice blast beats. The bass drum sounds like something out of 1349 or some other black/death project. As their side goes on, it just gets slower, heavier, and more addicting. Crazy sludge about half way through "Goatskrote," that fades in to weird avant-garde prog. The next song kicks in, straight blasts, in your face tunes. Random screaming is always a plus. I really like their sound, it's incredibly dense.
