Fuzion Records is officially airborn! Fresh off of their last release with Maxine Inniss, Fuzion is back with yet another dose of proper House Music. On this, their sophomore release for their new label, the duo team up with legendary vocalist, and original Blaze member, Chris Herbert. Of course we can’t forget the stellar performance that Herbert made for Shelter Records in 2001 on the now classic, “Home Is Where The Heart Is”. In the same vein, Herbert again delivers the goods on this, a slightly more uptempo, feel-good song. As Fuzion slowly paves their own signature sound, the production work cannot be mistaken. It is on point! I have been following Mena & Estevez for quite some time now, and they never seem to miss. Similar to Masters At Work, they seem to have that proverbial Midas Touch! There are a total of four cuts, including two full vocals, an instrumental and a Fuzion beats version. I still can’t decide which of the two vocals I like better. The mellower Main Vocal Mix can be played during any peak hour soulful set in my humble opinion, as can the Fuzion Funk Vocal Mix, although the latter has a slightly tougher edge to it, reminiscent of an early-to-mid 90’s NJ sound with a dab of disco influence. Although they don’t sound alike at all, I like both mixes very much, as they can cater to different moods. Oh and did I mention how much Mr. Herbert rips on this record! A stunner & a must have.
